The Marimba Made Me Cry Today

October 18, 2008

As odd as that sounds and completely out of the ordinary, it is 100% true. Justin and I were down on the Pearl Street Mall with Clare this early afternoon enjoying our fresh-out-of-the-oven slices from Pizza Calore, when a teenaged duo set up their elaborate xylophones made of gorgeous wood. They began to fill the pedestrian walk with beautiful music and we were pulled to the sounds like children to the Pied Piper .

I’m not sure. Maybe it was the music, maybe it was the gorgeous fall day and being with my family. Seeing my daughter delight and marvel in the echoing sounds the teens were creating and then move her little body to the music made my cup runneth over and pour right out of my eyes.

Now, we are back home, and Clare is nestled in her crib surrounded by every little fleecy blanket she owns. During this quiet time, I figured I would do some marimba research on Itunes and see what nuggets I might discover.
